Campus Compact VISTA - CCSNE PK-12 Partnerships, MA
 
 
 
Campus Compact for Southern New England (CCSNE) in Worcester, MA is seeking a PK-12 Partnerships VISTA to help build the capacity of higher education institutions to create and/or strengthen PK-12 programs that support low-income PK-12 students (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, social & emotional support, curriculum development, etc.). The VISTA will be responsible for identifying and sharing existing programs, best practices, and resources with stakeholders throughout Southern New England. This includes developing and implementing trainings and convenings for stakeholders and creating resources, guides, and materials for use by PK-12 and colleges and universities. This VISTA will be one of two Education Partnership VISTA members serving at CCSNE to help improve education, college aspirations, access, retention, and success for low-income students by leveraging assets of institutions of higher education to benefit students spanning from preschool (P) through elementary and secondary (grades K-12) and college. Both VISTA members will contribute to communications, grant-writing, and fundraising to promote education equity and partnerships. The biweekly living allowance for this position is $542.22 in Worcester County, MA. The AmeriCorps VISTAs serving at CCSNE will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps. Serving as a part of the Campus Compact VISTA corps provides VISTAs the chance to connect with corps members throughout multiple states, to create a network of support, and to share resources. Campus Compact supports the professional and personal growth of VISTA members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings throughout their service year. Member Duties : The PK-12 Partnerships VISTA will help improve educational success for low-income students in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island by leveraging the educational assets of institutions of higher education in PK-12 programs and partnerships by: mapping, assessing, and sharing existing programs and resources for PK-12 programs; promoting best practices and innovative projects; providing tools and information for improving practice; expanding existing training tools and building capacity of practitioners working with low-income students; exploring opportunities for convenings and promoting collaborations of practitioners working with low-income PK-12 students; researching grant opportunities, writing grants and building capacity for communications and outreach through website and social media platforms.
