Urban Forest Strategic Initiatives Coordinator
The Urban Forest Strategic Initiatives Coordinator develops, implements and evaluates volunteer and education programming to support tree plantings with the Nashville Tree Foundation. The NTF Board recently approved a new 3-5 year strategic plan that outlines 3 strategic priorities: (1) expand tree planting capacity, (2) ensure the sustainability of the organization, and (3) cultivate a community that values trees through education and advocacy. The Coordinator allows NTF to accelerate progress toward these goals by learning all aspects of the non-profit necessary to develop and implement these capacity-building programs. They work with city, community, and nonprofit leaders, research and learn about trees and their benefits, and represent the organization to the public. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and able to drive projects to completion. The candidate also possesses a positive, solutions-oriented attitude, a willingness to learn and lead, and a passion for teaching. The Hands On Nashville (HON) AmeriCorps Program engages civic-minded individuals in year-long terms of public service. Members are part of a 17-person cohort that receive skills training, professional development, and networking opportunities through a partnership between HON and participating AmeriCorps Program agencies. HON does not discriminate based on age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, or other factors which deny the essential humanity of all people.
