Community Outreach VISTA, Project Exploration
 
 
 
Project Exploration creates transformative learning opportunities for youth underrepresented in the sciences, particularly students of color and girls, by equipping them with the skills, practices, and mindset needed for a lifelong pursuit of learning. Project Exploration works to ensure that youth from communities traditionally overlooked by the sciences have access to STEM role models and high-quality science experiences.

Member Duties : As our Community Outreach VISTA, you will be able to amplify the importance and practice of effective STEM Mentorship in Chicago. After the course of your service in updating the Scientist Toolkit into a user-friendly STEM Mentor Guide, the documentation and dissemination thereof will be self-sustaining through the Chicago STEM Pathways Cooperative and larger City Networks, nationally. In addition to the Scientist Toolkit project, you will provide capacity building with the STEM Co-op, assisting in the work of a backbone organization, and ensuring that the needle continues to move with STEM access and equity throughout the city.
