BoSTEM VISTA, United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack
 
 
 
BoSTEM provides hands-on, high-quality learning opportunities that work alongside out-of-school time programs and with corporate volunteers, giving students a chance to apply STEM skills in exciting, real-world contexts. BoSTEM also aligns curriculum instruction across school and out-of-school time, and most importantly offers hands-on, experiential learning with industry professionals.

Member Duties : As the BoSTEM VISTA, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and successfully executing workplace field trips for middle school students throughout the greater Boston area to STEM companies. You will also support the implementation of volunteer opportunities for individual STEM professionals to support our OST partners during their programming. You will also help us with dissemination of field trip experiences through channels like social media. At the end of your VISTA service, you will have developed a comprehensive handbook to be used by all stakeholders to plan and implement their own workplace field trips.
