The Power of We AmeriCorps VISTA Program focuses on building capacity of Ingham County organizations in the areas of education and economic opportunity. The program emphasizes the importance of professional development and personal growth, while creating an exceptional AmeriCorps VISTA experience for members during the term of service.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps VISTA member will assist neighborhood organizations and citizens in Lansing in designing, resourcing, and implementing projects that benefit their community; Support a communications strategy that reaches residents of the City's neighborhoods as well as local, regional, and national partners; and, Cultivate partnerships among stakeholders, city agencies, nonprofit organizations, neighborhood associations, and block groups who can build capacity and serve as volunteers. The VISTA will also support the Mayor's Neighborhood Advisory Board grant application process and the Citizen's Academy program.
