Establishment of ATU’s Center for Community Engagement and A

ATU's AmeriCorps VISTA program will be housed in its Center for Community Engagement and Academic Outreach (CEAO). The goal of the program is to assist CEAO with the development of community partner relationships while preparing youth for college before they even arrive. VISTAs will assist with the identifying and evaluation of existing programs in k-12 schools that are aimed at encouraging college success. It will involve travel, collecting of information about identified education programs via interviews and surveys, and conducting and evaluation analysis of the programs. The focus of the first year of this program is the development of these relationships and the identification of existing programs.
