East Durham Children's Initiative (EDCI) Summer Associates
 
 
 
EDCI Summer Associates will contribute to the design and implementation of an innovative STEAM Summer Camp for up to 200 rising 3rd-5th graders in East Durham. In addition to project coordination duties at STEAM Summer Camp, EDCI Summer Associates will be instrumental in the implementation of EDCI’s annual Summer Lunch program, a community-based program that seeks to address food insecurity for over 500 adults and children in the East Durham community. Additionally, Summer Associates will have the opportunity to support the professional development of up to 10 high school students who will also be contributing to STEAM Summer Camp and Summer Lunch. EDCI Summer Associates will join a diverse and dynamic staff of over 20+ professionals dedicated to high-quality program delivery and community engagement.

Member Duties : EDCI Summer Associates will: (1) Support the planning and implementation of EDCI's STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) summer interventions for rising 3rd-5th graders within STEAM Summer Camp; (2) Provide direct student support at STEAM Summer Camp during academic blocks and recess/lunch time; (3) Coordinate and support logistics, high school interns, and volunteers at STEAM Summer Camp; (4) Coordinate logistics and volunteers at Summer Lunch, a summer hunger-prevention program for families in East Durham; (4) Plan and implement family enrichment activities at Summer Lunch; (5) Engage external community partners in the design, implementation, and day-to-day operations of EDCI's summer interventions.
