THN VISTA Youth Homeless Program Associate (Austin)
 
 
 
The Texas Homeless Network (THN) works to provide solutions to end homelessness in Texas communities through education, resources, and advocacy. Currently, THN has VISTA members placed throughout the state working on capacity building and program development to assist communities in ending homelessness. This VISTA project will build capacity to support the organization’s implementation of a new Rapid Re-Housing program for youth, to receive housing and long-term case management to maximize opportunity for housing stability.

Member Duties : This is the 2nd year of the project: 1. Research best practices and solicit community input for program development and delivery for unaccompanied homeless youth, and report findings to agency staff. 2. Collaborate with site supervisor and other stakeholders to identify community needs and priorities. 3. Organize and participate in application of new and enhanced processes and programs, possibly including: On-line courses, a Peer Mentorship program, Independent Skills Courses, etc. 4. Develop plan to track, store, and access large donated items.
