UWCCR Summer Meals Program - UWCCR

United Way California Capital Region's Healthy Meals Program sites are providing access to free and nutritious meals. While these sites are successful in meeting this need for the youth they serve, there is an immediate need for increased access to meals for walk-ins and unaffiliated youth; increased program efficiency by utilizing best practices for meal ordering, youth engagement, program operation, community outreach, increased activities to promote participation and volunteer engagement; and increased awareness of the program for parents and community members. As a Summer Associate, you will work closely in targeted neighborhoods to help identify strategies to increase participation at summer meal sites. While United Way is the sponsor of the project and will conduct training and provide overall supervision, many partnerships contribute to the success of this program. A car is strongly recommended.

Member Duties : Summer Associates (SA) will implement a variety of strategies to raise awareness and increase participation in the Summer Food Service Program including social media, paper media, phone calls or simply knocking on doors. SA will work with staff to create or enhance programing. In addition, SA will recruit volunteers and may assist in development of in-kind donations. SA will also provide support for day-to-day operations.
