AmeriCorps VISTA Catalyst at The Children's Lunchbox YR 2

Beans Cafe is committed to feeding the hungry and homeless without discrimination during the day. The Children's Lunchbox, a program of Beans cafe, works to feed children in safe community environments. A gap in community youth nutrition services has been identified, not all children in Anchorage are food secure. Part of the solution is increasing availability of feeding programs. The Children's Lunchbox wants to expand its center based model with a mobile food pantry that can go directly to where the need is. The VISTA member will be integral in the community need assessment, fundraising and program design of this new facet of the Children's Lunchbox.
