CoF FNSB Library Learning Loss Specialist Summer Associate
 
 
 
The Noel Wien Library seeks to provide anti-poverty programming that alleviates poverty by providing quality educational, employment, social service opportunities to low-income community members of all ages. The FNSB Library Summer Associate will assist with the Summer Reading Program thereby helping to prevent summer learning loss among low-income youth. The Summer Associate will help with program delivery in the Children’s Room. The Summer Associate will also serve as in-classroom assistance for teen programming programs, such as Girls Who Code. The person in this position will develop youth development, marketing and outreach skills. Summer Associates are an AmeriCorps volunteer program. Summer Associates in Fairbanks receive a monthly living allowance of $1,358 and an education award of $1,289.95 or a stipend of $345.80 for completing all 10 weeks.

Member Duties : The FNSB Library Summer Associate will assist with library programming for children and teens through program delivery and in-classroom assistance. The associate will also aid in marketing activities. Activities include: • Identify educational activities for school-aged children of all ages • Assist/lead educational activities, such as group reading and arts and crafts • Assist in creating and installing displays for the Summer Reading Program, Girls Who Code and other library programming • Attend outreach events to promote library programs and information
