Ascend Marketing + Design Coordinator

Ascend Indiana (Ascend), launched out of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP), exists to create stronger alignment between the supply of skilled talent and demand from employers in central Indiana. Our vision is for Indiana to be a place of economic opportunity for all. By 2020 at least 62 percent of Indiana jobs will require a post-secondary educated worker, yet, only 42 percent of working adults in central Indiana have an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or above. This leaves over 200,000 residents without the necessary skills to obtain jobs of the future. This leads to stagnating economic growth and prosperity for individuals and our region. Ascend aims to address these issues by creating opportunities for people to pursue self-sustaining career paths with a focus on serving individuals from low-income backgrounds. Ascend is seeking a motivated, self-starter to support the management and execution of Ascend’s marketing and communications systems and processes. The implementation of these systems will help connect diverse, low-income, post-secondary students to self-sustaining and meaningful careers with central Indiana employers. In addition, the VISTA member will support Ascend's fundraising and development efforts through the branding of grant applications and reports. VISTA members will work with a highly collaborative team throughout their term of service and will receive continuous professional development opportunities. Member Duties : This VISTA will support Ascend’s ongoing marketing and communication efforts, including the design and development of Ascend branded materials (i.e. Power Point Decks, statements of work, executive summaries, strategic plans, etc.); uploading and maintaining accurate website information; creating content and posting to Ascend’s social media platforms (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.); and updating on campus promotional and marketing materials. These efforts will help promote Ascend’s work connecting individuals to meaningful and self-sustaining internships and jobs. The Marketing and Design Coordinator will also help further Ascend’s vision, mission, and program offerings through various research, marketing, and communications efforts.
