Campus Compact for NH GEAR UP Manchester - Parkside Middle
 
 
 
The Northern New England Campus Compact VISTA Program is focused on the development of programming on campuses across Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont that will increase access to higher education for low income individuals by providing programming focused on improving college aspirations, increasing the belief that college is an option, and increasing access to higher education for low income individuals seeking higher education. We are currently recruiting for a team of VISTAS to serve at host sites across the state to achieve these goals.

Member Duties : GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is designed to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in post-secondary education. GEAR UP Manchester seeks to improve the high school graduation rates and college going rates of students in Manchester by providing ongoing supports to students beginning in middle school. The GEAR UP Manchester VISTA will be tasked with creating programming that aligns with the goals of the program, creating connections with community partners, and recruiting volunteers. Specific activities will include: developing parent/family engagement opportunities, developing infrastructure to support Career College Clubs at Parkside Middle School, and assisting with identifying and connecting students with resources to ensure their ongoing success.
 
Program Benefits : Living Allowance ,  Childcare assistance if eligible ,  Housing ,  Relocation Allowance ,  Health Coverage* ,  Training ,  Education award upon successful completion of service ,  $500/month housing stipend ,  Choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend .
