| Member Duties : GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) is designed to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in post-secondary education. GEAR UP Manchester seeks to improve the high school graduation rates and college going rates of students in Manchester by providing ongoing supports to students beginning in middle school. The GEAR UP Manchester VISTA will be tasked with creating programming that aligns with the goals of the program, creating connections with community partners, and recruiting volunteers. Specific activities will include: developing parent/family engagement opportunities, developing infrastructure to support Career College Clubs at Parkside Middle School, and assisting with identifying and connecting students with resources to ensure their ongoing success.
