Member Duties : The VISTA will coordinate with NLU student volunteers by implementing activities associated with connecting and matching college students to serve as tutors/mentors to k12 youth at 3-5 community organizations. The VISTA will develop relationships with the community partners and will develop a sustainable process for recruiting and placing NLU volunteers to serve in a tutoring/mentoring capacity to low-income youth in Chicago. The VISTA will provide formative assessment of NLU tutors and will research best practices for creating and sustaining a tutoring program between low-income k12 youth and college students.
