IIM Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator [MCN]

The International Institute of Minnesota empowers New Americans to achieve full membership in American life. Through refugee resettlement, career development, immigration services, and English language learning, the Institute serves 4000 people from 100 countries each year. Programs and services offered at the Institute are vital in helping New Americans achieve self-sufficiency and support their families. In response to the political environment and heightened awareness of the plight of refugees, asylees, and other New Americans, the Institute has experienced a high volume of requests by community members interested in volunteering. At this time, the Institute is only able to place a small percentage of these potential volunteers—a huge missed opportunity for clients and the organization’s mission. The Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator will create and revise volunteer opportunities and improve internal systems to recruit, train, and utilize more volunteers to increase support to our clients and respond to the larger community desire to make a difference in the lives of New Americans.
