Come to Maine and experience the natural beauty and exciting outdoor opportunities provided by its distinct four seasons! Maine Campus Compact (MCC) is a statewide coalition of colleges and universities whose purpose is to further the public purposes and civic mission of higher education. MCC’s team of 10 VISTAs will develop programming that mobilizes college students to increase college aspirations in Maine’s K-12 youth. This position will be based at the University of Maine at Presque Isle in Presque Isle.

Member Duties : The VISTA will be instrumental in the successful oversight and implementation of many aspects of the tutoring and mentoring programs at UMPI. As outlined in the VAD, VISTA responsibilities include but not limited to: • Assist TRIO programs throughout the academic year. • Assist in the facilitation and leading of the UMPI Owl Mentor Program that pairs incoming students with upperclassmen to provide support and guidance during the first year. • Design and implement UMPI Day • Design and implement the 2020 Summer Bridge Program • Be an active member of the Student Success and Completion Steering Committee. • Create Community Service Program to enhance student community engagement and service learning on campus. • Plan and implement the UMPI Alternative Spring Break.
