WISE Volunteer Program Coordinator [MCN]
 
 
 
Women’s Initiative for Self-Empowerment (WISE) is a nationally-recognized leader in immigrant and refugee girl’s education and leadership development. The agency was created in 1995 with the mission to empower immigrant women and girls to succeed. WISE is a vehicle for educational, leadership, social and economic empowerment for immigrant and refugee girls and women. The agency provides academic support, financial literacy, college prep, advocacy, skill building for healthy relationships, life skills workshops, arts activities, referrals to community resources, and scholarships to it participants. The youth/women range in age from 12-30.

Member Duties : • Work with the Executive Director to identify new higher education partners and outreach/recruitment opportunities • Research best practices in volunteer recruitment and retention • Develop social media messages to recruit volunteers • Attend a variety of WISE program activities to familiarize themselves with mentor/ volunteer duties and opportunities • Update and streamline WISE volunteer database for tracking/ retention/ supervision • In consultation with the Executive Director, create a calendar of volunteer recognition activities, and assist with these activities • Train staff on how to use the database/infrastructure to track/retain/supervise volunteers • Attend staff meetings and retreats
