*MTCC Summer VISTA- Veterans Stand Down & Food Pantry
 
 
 
The Northwest Montana Veterans Stand Down & Food Pantry (VSD) is located in Kalispell, Montana. VSD is dedicated to providing a "helping hand up", to homeless, low-income and at risk veterans and their families. VSD supports the men and women who have sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution and people of the United States of America and their families that are homeless, low-income and at risk. "Camp Ponderosa", a retreat and learning center to assist veterans with addressing the challenges, fears, and stigma that they face during and after they have served in our Armed Services. Camp Ponderosa is in the beginning phases of development at this time, but the ground work the Summer Associate will develop will be utilized at the Camp once it is open and ready to receive applicants.

Member Duties : The Summer Associate will research and identify how to engage the veterans to attend the classes, produce flyers and outreach materials announcing the lab scheduling the classes and coordinating with the volunteers on frequency of the classes to be offered, develop advertising announcing the new service connecting with donors and media to the opening of this new service, create a calendar of monthly Resume Lab classes, create informational flyers and research most visible locations to post the the flyers to promote attendance. Furthermore, the Summer Associate will update job descriptions of volunteers and staff, compile the policies and procedures putting them in manuals, job descriptions will be updated and a new volunteer application redesigned with any changes; work with Board Members to develop policies and procedures; research existing programs; and produce a manual of the policies and procedures for Camp Ponderosa agreed to by the Board members.
