Gallatin Valley YMCA (GVYMCA) is located in Bozeman, Montana. GVYMCA is a cause-driven inclusive organization of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurture the potential of every child and teen, improve our community's health and well-being, and by giving back and providing support to our neighbors. Member Duties : The Summer Associate will work with YMCA staff to create opportunities for disadvantaged families to connect and engage with their children in a social capacity through regular "family nights”; implement daily lessons on the above subjects focusing on making learning fun; and work with the licensed teachers to connect enrichment activities with reading lessons to provide a holistic learning environment for low income youth. Furthermore, the Summer Associate will participate as an extra hand during literacy lessons, helping certified teachers implement classroom goals and objectives. The Summer Associate will work with YMCA staff to plan and execute the Summer Learning Loss Prevention program (Y Achievers), and provide enrichment through activities that are fun and educational in the areas of reading, science, technology, engineering, math, art, social awareness/interaction and childhood development.
