*MTCC Summer VISTA- Salish Kootenai College Upward Bound
 
 
 
Salish Kootenai College (SKC) is located in Pablo, Montana. The SKC Upward Bound Program provides low-income and first-generation high school students with the skills and motivation necessary for success in postsecondary education. During the Summer Associate project students will complete academic course work at both the high school and college level, as well as participate in personal, cultural, community service, college visitation, and other enrichment activities. Upward Bound is the only residential college preparatory program on the reservation, and the only program providing students an opportunity to earn high school and college credit during the summer component.

Member Duties : The Summer Associates will assist students in completing and submitting coursework and related activities; engage students in career exploration and academic workshops throughout the summer; assist and provide leadership to students completing community service hours; work with participating organizations to fulfill the service objective; engage students with SKC staff and faculty through department activities in a range of fields; and encourage students to explore and discuss college preparatory interests and plans throughout the summer.
