*MTCC Summer VISTA- HRDC 9

HRDC 1X is located in Bozeman, Montana. HRDC is a 501(c)3 non-profit Community Action Agency providing programs and services in the areas of housing, food and nutrition, child and youth development, senior empowerment, transportation, energy assistance, and community development. Summer Associates will play an integral role in preparing and providing support to our twelve meal sites through Gallatin County. This includes meal prep and production, record keeping, meal service, site supervision, and volunteer support. Access to meals in the summer months can be a hurdle for kids and their families. Providing accessible summer meal sites with educational activities not only supports a child’s nutritional needs, but it also helps children fight the “summer slide” effect. Over the summer many young people and their families lose access to critical supports that keep them safe, healthy, and engaged in learning. Summer Associates will support the production and distribution of summer meals which will directly assist families and ensure children have access to meals with fresh fruits and veggies even when parents may be at work.
