Lake County BaG Organizational & Resource Development VISTA

Lake County Build a Generation (LCBAG) is building a movement for health and well-being in Lake County. We have been a project of the Lake County Public Health Agency, and are launching as our own nonprofit in 2019. Our staff members are passionate about youth, families, seniors, and the success of our community. Lake County Build a Generation staff work to support the forward movement of the community’s vision for health and well-being. We do this in six key ways: Field and Capacity Building, Community Organizing, Coalition Building, Community Research, Planning and Evaluation, Developing and Supporting Coordinated Health Initiatives, and Policy, Infrastructure and Systems Change. This position is located in Lake County, Colorado, a small, rural community in the shadow of the Continental Divide. Lake County Build a Generation is an emerging nonprofit with a long history of providing support to community agencies and residents to launch successful projects such as successful renovations of two school playgrounds, the launch of the Lake County Pre-Collegiate Program, the creation of the Lake County Community Fund, the installation of 26 signs and assemblages in school zones to improve safety for students walking or biking to school, and the completion of the Lake County Housing Assessment. Moreover, our passion for implementing best practices, supporting health and well-being, and using data for improvement are evident in our organizational practices as well. We have a long history of organizational development, with a goal of ensuring that Lake County Build a Generation is an efficient and effective organization—as well as a good place to work.
