La Puente Enterprises Marketing & Comms Development VISTA

La Puente Enterprise's mission is to build a sustainable San Luis Valley through social enterprise. La Puente Enterprises exists for the financial, environmental, and social sustainability of those whom La Puente Home serves. La Puente Home is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Colorado's San Luis Valley (SLV) by providing food, shelter, and advocacy for the homeless and community members in crisis. La Puente Home endeavors to meet immediate needs and to empower people to live independently with dignity. The SLV is an expansive, rural area larger than the state of Rhode Island, consisting of six counties. It is the largest high alpine valley in the world and lies between the Sangre de Cristo range of the Rocky Mountains and the San Juan Mountains. Over 20% of SLV residents live at or below the poverty line and are in need of some type of support. Service at La Puente Enterprises is fun and rewarding. A VISTA with our organization will acquire real-world skills in marketing and communications that will be an asset in any future endeavors. You will also be a part of a large network of professionals and volunteers that enjoy and are engaged in helping people. The work you do will have immediate impact and you will see the positive benefits every day. In addition, Alamosa is in the heart of the Rockies and is surrounded by rugged 14,000 foot peaks. Hiking, biking, fishing, bird-watching, and all types of exploring are just minutes away.
