Family and Intercultural Resource Center Program Assistant

As the only human services non-profit in Summit County, the Family & Intercultural Resource Center (FIRC) has been serving families since 1993 with a mission to support family stability and self-sufficiency. FIRC’s Parent Engagement program supports parents of school-age children and other adults in the community through education, financial resources, social connections, and community partnerships. Staff use a strengths-based approach to support families in developing skills, enhancing relationships, and accessing important resources such as mental health care - ultimately increasing family stability and wellbeing. Extensive training is provided. The Program Assistant VISTA works closely with the Program Manager and the Emotional Health Peer Support Coordinator to effectively coordinate, evaluate, promote awareness and increase participation of FIRC’s programs designed for adults in the community, as well as parents and their school-aged children. Examples of such programs include parenting classes and workshops, focus groups, Family Connectedness events, presentations, and educational sessions on health and emotional wellness.
