Member Duties : The College Access Summer Associate duties will include supporting summertime college access workshops by: 1) Co-leading personal statement summer workshops; 2) Refining and co-leading personal statement trainings to 826LA volunteers; 3) With 826LA staff, contributing to personal statement curriculum and materials; 4) With 826LA staff, developing student success tracking system; 5) Distributing and tabulating evaluations at end of all college access programs.
Summer Associates will also support 826LA outreach through: 1) Writing and editing blog entries related to 826LA college access programming and being a Summer Associate for the 826LA website; 2) Writing copy for social media outlets to maximize outreach efforts; 3) Supporting volunteer recruitment and community outreach at events; 4) Assisting with the administrative aspects of 826LA’s college access programming; 5) Assisting with the editing process of the Ethnic Studies manuscript.
