Families Plus Community Outreach Coordinator VISTA

Families Plus comes along side of families and children in very challenging circumstances to help the children thrive. We have developed a model program to help children in poverty that is gaining national recognition and leading the way in Colorado by providing comprehensive health care to children in very difficult circumstances. In April of 2018 we were named a “Champion Program for Innovation” selected out of one hundred federally funded programs. Our strong and enthusiastic staff is seeking an energetic individual to lead outreach efforts in the community to recruit volunteers and create community awareness about the need for community-based health care for vulnerable children. The Community Engagement Associate VISTA will also be a leader in efforts with other agencies to draw the community into the prevention of youth substance abuse. Even though burdened with poverty, Delta County Colorado is in the heart of the great outdoors with spectacular scenery, great climate, skiing, boarding, rafting, fishing, biking, hiking and hunting. We are Colorado’s garden with orchards, vineyards, and world famous Olathe sweet corn for the picking.
