CRC VISTA Leader - Recruitment

CRC's mission is to create opportunities, tools and strategies to develop nonprofits and community groups to strengthen Colorado. Nonprofit organizations play an important role in improving the quality of life in Colorado's rural communities. Through CRC’s statewide programming, VISTA members will gain a broad understanding of Colorado’s nonprofit sector and the state’s many unique rural communities. CRC works closely with rural and statewide nonprofits who offer an array of services from addressing basic human needs to environmental sustainability. We lead effective change by providing resources, services and collaborative opportunities for rural nonprofit organizations. We conduct outreach to community stakeholders and potential funders to increase the viability of nonprofit efforts. We orchestrate learning opportunities around specific regional issues and needs, as well as how to successfully address regional issues by assisting local nonprofit organizations. Most importantly, we create a lasting, positive impact in rural Colorado communities by providing services to address basic needs, transitional housing and poverty alleviation. The Recruitment VISTA Leader will work with one other VISTA Leader to support the expansion of CRC’s VISTA program consisting of 32 members!

Member Duties : The VISTA Leader will support the Statewide Rural Capacity Building VISTA Project by recruiting, onboarding, and training 32 VISTA members. The VISTA Leader will also provide ongoing support to 32 members by planning professional development and networking opportunities, connecting members to resources, and developing a network of support for VISTA members across the state. Member Duties include: 1.) Facilitate recruitment of 32 VISTA members, which includes creating job descriptions, designing marketing materials, and interviewing VISTA candidates. 2.) Recruit, train, and recognize 32 VISTA members. 3.) Provide ongoing guidance and support to VISTA members 4.) Identify professional development and networking opportunities for VISTA members 5.) Collect and edit AmeriCorps VISTA member reports. 6.) Foster greater communication between VISTAs and their project supervisor. 7.) Organize National Service Days.
