The biweekly living allowance for this position is $5422.22. In addition to the benefits listed above, the host site will provide the following: on-campus housing, a meal plan, access to the university fitness center, and professional development opportunities. The AmeriCorps VISTA serving at Lewis University will be part of a dynamic, motivated corps. Serving as a part of the Campus Compact VISTA corps provides VISTAs the chance to connect with corps members throughout multiple states, to create a network of support, and to share resources. Campus Compact supports the professional and personal growth of VISTA members through a variety of professional development opportunities and in-person trainings throughout their service year.

Member Duties : The VISTA will coordinate meetings with the appropriate community organizations to assist the Fairmont-Lewis coalition in better understanding community assets and to identify ways that these resources can come together to respond to the after school programming needs of the community. Through the expansion of the coalition and creating more permanent communication tools within the community and between the community and Lewis University, the VISTA will grow a working team of organizations and individuals that will offer high quality, consistent, and affordable after school programming for members of the Fairmont community so children can continue to learn and have fun in a safe environment. The VISTA will intentionally expand the network of relevant partners involved in the Fairmont-Lewis coalition and engage Lewis U students to run the after school program.
