Orange County United Way Workforce Development VISTA

There’s an amazing feeling that comes from helping others. The more we unite community resources to support Orange County United Way’s Fund, Collaborate, and Educate (FACE) 2024 goals, the closer we come to ensuring that everyone in Orange County receives a quality education, is financially stable, is healthy and thriving and has a place to call home. As an AmeriCorps VISTA, you have the power to make a significant impact in the lives of others in our local community and advance Orange County United Way’s FACE 2024 Income goal: to reduce the percentage of financially unstable families in Orange County by another 25%. The UpSkill OC VISTA will strengthen the capacity of UpSkill OC to increase economic opportunity for low-income residents as they move from unemployment or low-wage positions into long-term, livable wage, middle-skill occupations. Orange County United Way employee culture is based on the values: compassionate, relationships, enthusiastic, driven, and accountable. This is a great opportunity for someone to join a collaborative, supportive team, working intelligently, individually, and diligently. A successful UpSkill OC VISTA candidate is flexible, highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, and emotionally intelligent with proven results. As a result of the UpSkill OC VISTA’s efforts, Orange County United Way will better understand what best practices can be adopted to enhance program impact, and how to leverage Orange County United Way and community resources to better achieve our goals. Together with your help, we will transform the lives of unemployed and underemployed residents in Orange County.
