HandsOn VISTA - ICM Food & Clothing Bank

Serve with ICM Food & Clothign Bank as a part of the HandsOn VISTA Team! ABOUT THE SITE AND THE ROLE: See ‘Members Duties’ section below. ABOUT HandsOn Greater Phoenix: For nearly 25 years, HandsOn Greater Phoenix has worked with nonprofits, Title I schools, neighborhood associations and government entities to assess and meet the volunteer needs of the Greater Phoenix area. The HandsOn VISTA program supports 20 VISTA members at multiple placement sites across the valley. Our VISTA members enable our community service partners to expand capacity and build lasting infrastructure by creating the processes and tools needed to effectively access and utilize valuable resources. HandsOn VISTA members will improve their own capacity for leading communities during and beyond their terms of service by developing their knowledge, skills, and abilities related to volunteer mobilization, civic engagement, and other areas. In addition to the site-specific work of the individual role all of our VISTA members: participate in 2 AmeriCorps National Days of Service, lead projects at 2 HandsOn community service days, attend monthly VISTA team trainings with the other HandsOn VISTA members, and lead a monthly community volunteering opportunity. APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED ON A ROLLING BASIS UNTIL FILLED. PLEASE APPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR BEST CONSIDERATION!

Member Duties : Join ICM Food & Clothing Bank and take on the critical work of redesigning their volunteer management processes! The VISTA member will implement all aspects of volunteer management including creating policies, procedures for training, recruitment and orientation as well as the implementation of a database that incorporates the volunteer function of the organization. The successful applicant needs to understand database functionality, but more importantly can relate to people within the organization. Change management skills/experience are a huge plus. Major milestones of the project are to gather feedback and input from current volunteers to help inform and design new volunteer management systems and generate volunteer buy-in. And assist ICM with integrating volunteer data into new database system and design new procedures around volunteer data management.
