PLU: Parkland Education Initiative VISTA Coordinator-Year 3

The goal for the Parkland Education Initiative VISTA project is to expand and improve existing K-8 educational programs for low-income students through a place-based community-engagement initiative in the Parkland neighborhood of Pierce County, Washington, home to Pacific Lutheran University. In the coming year, this project will mobilize students and faculty to participate in service-learning, community service, and community-based research students in Parkland. The VISTA member joins the statewide Washington Campus Compact (WACC) VISTA team whose members increase the capacity of campus-community partnerships by leveraging campus resources and community assets to address critical issues of education access and success, mental health and food security. Washington Campus Compact is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our national service programs. People of color, LGBTQ individuals, persons with disabilities, and veterans are encouraged to apply. **Strong preference for applicants who are bilingual in Spanish/English.**
