Development Coordinator for the Friends of the Hernández
 
 
 
The Hernández After School Program (HASP) is seeking a champion of bilingual education and after school excellence. As the Development Coordinator, you will promote accessible after school programming for BPS students attending the Rafael Hernandez K-8 School in Boston, MA. You will help grow FOH and HASP by engaging students and their families, strengthening relationships with local businesses, and supporting community events and fundraisers. The Development Coordinator will write grants, research prospects, and assist in direct-appeals. This is a role that helps to provide resources such as low-cost tuition and scholarships without sacrificing enriching programming. Member Duties : The VISTA member will focus on the following areas: 1) Maintain and build partnerships with local organizations and businesses. 2) Engage family and community volunteers to support fundraising objectives. 3) Identify and engage sponsors for annual community events and fundraisers 4) Identify and pursue grant funding opportunities with director support. 5) Support organizational development by working closely with the FOH Board of Directors as well as developing the Advisory Board. 6) Implement communications strategy with a local intern, strengthening HASP’s outreach to the Hernández community and beyond.
