2019 – Washtenaw Literacy: LoSAC – Pathways to Employment

Washtenaw Literacy serves approximately 2,100 learners across Washtenaw County, one of the most economically segregated communities in the United States, engaging them in workforce development training to secure a path out of poverty. As part of their efforts they are rolling out the Low Skilled Adult Count (LoSAC) community literacy survey. As a VISTA serving with Washtenaw Literacy, you would be a primary driver in administering the survey, forming community partnerships, and recruiting and training volunteers across the county. Your efforts will help Washtenaw Literacy get an accurate picture of the need for services in Washtenaw County, allowing them to focus their efforts where they will do the most good.
