Service Description : Are you ready to alleviate poverty and help provide increased access to services related to mental health in Upstate South Carolina? In the third year of the Greenville County Behavioral Health (GCBH) VISTA program, the Outreach & Communications Strategy VISTA will serve at the administrative offices of Safe Harbor, a non-profit serving Upstate SC working to provide a continuum of services for victims of domestic violence and their children and to eliminate cultural acceptance of domestic violence through a coordinated community response, prevention and education. Greenville, South Carolina continues to receive national and international recognition for its southern charm, opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, arts scene, sports culture, and cuisine. Greenville has been lauded by The New York Times as one of the 52 cities in the world to visit, by USA Today as one of the 10 best emerging destinations, and as one of America’s ten best downtowns for its combination of revitalized commercial and park space. Greenville is located at the base of the Blue Ridge mountains. This position is eligible for a gym membership to a specific local facility and a housing stipend to be paid directly to the landlord.

Member Duties : The Outreach & Communications Strategy VISTA will build the capacity of and expand the agency’s community-wide outreach initiatives, including developing and documenting strategies for reaching underserved populations. This individual will actively capture and communicate client stories and the impact of the agency's services in a meaningful way.
