'20-'21 Crisis Line Capacity VISTA-GCBH VISTA- SH
 
 
 
Are you ready to fight poverty and help provide increased access to services related to mental health in Upstate South Carolina? In the fourth year of the Greenville County Behavioral Health (GCBH) VISTA program, the Crisis Line Capacity VISTA will serve at the administrative offices of Safe Harbor, a non-profit serving Upstate SC working to provide a continuum of services for victims of domestic violence and their children and to eliminate cultural acceptance of domestic violence through a coordinated community response, prevention and education. Greenville, South Carolina continues to receive national and international recognition for its southern charm, opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts, arts scene, sports culture, and cuisine. Greenville has been lauded by The New York Times as one of the 52 cities in the world to visit, by USA Today as one of the 10 best emerging destinations, and as one of America’s ten best downtowns for its combination of revitalized commercial and park space. Greenville is located at the base of the Blue Ridge mountains. This position is eligible for a gym membership to a specific local facility and a housing stipend to be paid directly to the landlord.

Member Duties : The Crisis Line Capacity VISTA will research best practices associated with crisis hotlines for victims of trauma. The VISTA member will implement sustainable tools and resources allowing for consistent handling of calls from victims experiencing trauma and seeking counseling and other behavioral health-related services. This individual will help develop, document, and create an implementation process for volunteer training processes associated with handling crisis calls for individuals experiencing trauma. This VISTA will implement data-tracking mechanisms for trauma-related calls.
