City of Birmingham Summer Associate Program
 
 
 
Through a combination of direct and indirect service, the goal of this project is to engage and empower youth through programs designed to promote food security, academic retention, and opioid awareness while weaving in elements of economic opportunity. Summer Associates must be between the ages of 18 and 24.

Member Duties : Summer Associates will spend nine weeks engaged with Birmingham's youth, community members, partners, and Mayor's Initiative VISTAs honing in on Healthy Food, Healthy Decisions, and Healthy Futures. From helping administer meals, to tutoring, to shadowing, to creating opioid prevention material, Summer Associates will engage their strong suits to make a difference this summer.
