United Way of Onslow County Financial Stability VISTA

You have the power to make a big impact in the lives of others in Onslow County. United Way of Onslow County is a locally based organization dedicated to strengthening lives, and improving our local community conditions. We convene and collaborate with partners from across the community - nonprofits, government, business, volunteers - to create opportunities for a better life for Onslow County's most vulnerable residents. As an AmeriCorps VISTA, your work will drive financial stability initiatives in a number of ways. This includes developing data-driven and research-based innovative strategies, working with partners to implement and advertise these strategies, supporting strategic direction for programs that assist adults by helping them achieve family-sustaining employment, and taking a leadership role in social and policy research projects to support UWOC’s priority work. Other projects will include maintaining a resources library and representing UWOC in coordinating with other organizations in UWOC’s service area. UWOC is looking for an individual with experience in data analysis, conducting research, strategic planning, facilitation, relationship management, and network building. The Economic Mobility VISTA must be customer and partner-focused, data-driven, innovative, and results oriented. United Way of Onslow County employee culture is one of service, kindness, and resourcefulness. This is a great opportunity for someone to join a small collaborative, supportive team, working intelligently, individually, and diligently. As a result of VISTA’s efforts, UWOC will better understand what combination of income services are currently available to the target community, where service gaps are, what best practices can be adopted to enhance program impact, and how to leverage local resources to better achieve our goals. Together with your help, we will transform the lives of the most vulnerable families in Onslow County.
