Outreach Coordinator
 
 
 
The Central Arkansas Library System is seeking an AmeriCorps VISTA to serve as an Outreach Coordinator for twelve months. The Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for creating a program to assist low-income Arkansans with government assistance applications and help immigrants navigate their pathway to citizenship through naturalization. Member activities include but not limited to, conducting a pre-assessment of CALS efforts assisting low-income Arkansans with government assistance; research the application process for various programs to include Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance, and U.S. Citizenship; and develop outreach programs. Applicants should have excellent communication and organization skills, be familiar with government assistance programs and their application process, as well as experience with developing various programs from start to completion.

Member Duties : This member will conduct a pre-assessment, research application processes for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Women Infants and Children (WIC), and Medicaid, and compile a list of needed documentation and eligibility for each application. The coordinator will research the application process for U.S. Citizenship through naturalization, determine the required documentation and qualifications for applicants, and develop an outreach initiative to assist immigrants with becoming citizens. The outreach coordinator will develop a program to assist low-income Arkansans with SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, and citizenship applications. The member will create content for a staff training workshop for CALS staff to become familiar with application processes. The member will facilitate staff training and collaborate with staff to conduct workshops. The member will develop a contact list to help promote outreach initiatives. The coordinator will conduct a post-assessment.
