D.I.V.I.N.E. Institute - Capacity Building 2.0 (MLC)

D.I.V.I.N.E. Institute serves a unique mix of public school students who have complex educational histories and barriers to academic success. Our mission is to elevate the interpersonal development of youth through literacy and enrichment initiatives which foster life-long learning. We provide educational programming and residential services to school-aged youth who are at risk for educational truancy, school drop-out. We collaborate with city, county and state service providers and the departments of children and family services to provide services to high need girls aged 12-17. We are in a tremendous growth period and need you to help add to the high energy innovation we use to serve our students by reducing disparities in educational development. We have currently grown out of our two locations and are planning to move into new space within a very dynamic community in Minneapolis. The community needs continue to grow as schools and educational providers are searching for solutions to the egregious disparities in educational outcomes for students of color and Black students in Minnesota specifically. To support this growth this year we are embarking on a $5 million capital campaign to house expanded programming in another location. We are improving current programming, and expanding to include additional services. We want to improve our outreach and impact within the communities we serve and we want your ideas and experiences especially if you have experience in and value promoting healthy communication, supporting women in leadership, building the capacity of communities of color and utilizing technology in new and exciting ways. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS: Free seasonal produce through a local farm CSA in summer and fall, and training and professional development funds.
