MENTOR Development VISTA

MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership (MENTOR) is the unifying champion for quality youth mentoring in the United States. MENTOR’s mission is to close the mentoring gap and ensure our nation’s young people have the support they need through quality mentoring relationships to succeed at home, school, and ultimately, work. To achieve this, MENTOR collaborates with its network of Affiliates and works to drive the investment of time and money into high-impact mentoring programs and advance quality mentoring through the development and delivery of standards, cutting-edge research, and state-of-the-art tools. MENTOR Affiliates are at the center of this work. Affiliates are public-private organizations that galvanize local, statewide, or regional mentoring movements, and provide the leadership and infrastructure necessary to create and deliver on a climate that puts quality relationships for young people at the center. As part of this VISTA program, called the National MENTOR Corps, Corps Members will play a critical role in strengthening the scope and reach of the national mentoring movement. The National MENTOR Corps VISTA team provides support from a national level to increase the capacity of and resources for local Affiliates who in turn provide training and support to mentoring programs.
