2019 Human Resources Summer Associate

The mission of the Spanish Coalition for Housing (SCH) is to provide comprehensive counseling, education and housing resources necessary for Latinos and other low-to-moderate income families in the Chicagoland area, develop competence and responsibility in meeting their financial and housing needs, and to advocate for and proactively promote additional resources for them. Through this project, the VISTA will assist the agency in reshaping its training program and identify opportunities to develop skills for increased productivity. The long-term goal of the project will be to improve employee performance, achieve business goals, prepare employees to take managerial roles, and improve employee retention and program application. This position is a part of the Housing Action VISTA Network, which is an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. As such, this position will receive expert training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps VISTA positions. Member Duties : Become acclimated with Spanish Coalition for Housing’s history, mission, vision and goals. Research guidelines and current written processes for the Financial Literacy Program and creating mapping process for program. Create evaluation forms targeted to program requirements and performance evaluations. Identify current training opportunities under the Financial Literacy Program.
