The MAPS Media Institute is committed to providing a rigorous, hands-on program designed to instill a lifelong passion for learning and to equip students with the skills and confidence for academic, social and professional success. According to the 2017 American Community Survey data, only 26% of those living in Ravalli County have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher. The US Census shows that 40% of Americans have finished an Associate’s Degree or above. Additionally, 9% of people aged 25 years or older in Ravalli County have not attended or have dropped out of high school and 41% of the Ravalli County population over the age of 25 has a high school diploma or less. The goal of MAPS Works projects is to strengthen and connect our community through media arts. Guided by MAPS instructors, MAPS student participants will collaborate with local and regional nonprofit organizations and state agencies to produce digital media that will assist the client organization with raising awareness, increasing volunteer participation.
