NeDA-Community Liaison [MCN]

The Neighborhood Development Alliance (NeDA) is a nonprofit community development corporation that builds both rental and ownership housing on St. Paul’s West Side. NeDA also provides bilingual housing and financial advising to the metro-area’s Latino and low-income populations. The Community Liaison will assist NeDA staff in developing and continuing programming for our 40 apartment unit, mixed-use building on St. Paul’s West Side: Villa del Sol. This building houses 75 children and 47 adults and has a 3,000 square foot community space.

Member Duties : The Community Liaison will review current programming, look to expand offerings for the residents, and advertise Villa del Sol’s community space for use, primarily by local residents and nonprofit groups. They will also research resources in the arts and community gardens to expand our outreach to community and nonprofit groups. Ultimately they will increase a diverse offering of programs that will appeal to residents and the larger community. Specific activities include, but are not limited to, the following: assist residents in providing direction for programming for adults and children; schedule and manage Villa del Sol programs; maintain a sustainable budget for managing the community space; review NeDA’s current communication plan for Villa del Sol to ensure continued interest in the site; development planning for plazas at Villa del Sol to develop outdoor programming with residents; and develop a Year-Two and Year-Three program schedule for the commercial space.
