2019 Program Associates

Architreasures transforms public spaces through grassroots partnerships that empower people to shape their future and the future of their community. Architreasures activates communities through the power of art and design, providing programs within affordable housing compounds that improves common spaces and strengthen social connections among residents. We reach low-income affordable housing residents who normally have difficulty accessing arts and cultural activities due to lack of financial resources, social isolation, transportation challenges and/or risk of exposure to violence when crossing gang lines. Our 2019 Summer Program will provide opportunities for children and youth to participate in on-site arts workshops and families to engage in art and design improvement projects that beautify and improve physical and social spaces within their neighborhoods. This position is a part of the Housing Action VISTA Network, which is an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. As such, this position will receive expert training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps VISTA positions. Learn more about the program at Housing Action’s website.
