2019 Monitoring and Technical Assistance Support Specialist
 
 
 
All Chicago works to prevent and end homelessness in the City of Chicago. We partner with 40+ partners who provide housing directly to our homeless population. Monitoring is a key element to ensuring our partners provide quality housing and supportive services to people who have experienced homelessness. The VISTA member will assist with increasing All Chicago’s monitoring and technical assistance capacity by providing support with reviewing and evaluating policies and practices. The VISTA member’s support and feedback will contribute to system improvements that will help participants remain stably housed and avoid returning to homelessness. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills or qualities: • Effective written and oral communication • Able to research regulations and best practices • Participates well on a team • Adheres to deadlines • Dependable • Positive attitude. This position is a part of the Housing Action VISTA Network, which is an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010. As such, this position will receive expert training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps VISTA positions. Member Duties : The VISTA member will conduct 3-4 agency audits with support from the CoC Program Team. The audits involve evaluating policies, files, data entry, and assessments. The VISTA member will assist with completing audit reports, researching regulations and best practices, and developing at least 3 technical assistance (TA) articles for publication on All Chicago’s website. Additionally, the VISTA member will provide written feedback for All Chicago and the monitoring workgroup by suggesting practices that will increase efficiency, effectiveness and capacity for ongoing monitoring and TA.
