*MTCC AmeriCorps Leader - Broader Impacts Group
Broader Impacts Group is a family of high-impact organizations that collectively engage over 200,000 people annually through spectrUM, We Are Montana In the Classroom, and innovateUM. These efforts are supported by an array of local and national funding sources, including the National Science Foundation, Montana NSF EPSCoR, NASA, the U.S. Department of Education, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Jane S. Heman Foundation and the Martin Family Foundation. Engage Montana’s next generation of scientists and leaders in hands-on science. The Broader Impacts AmeriCorps Leader will engage in hands-on science activities with the visiting public during hours at the University of Montana Empower Place in the Missoula Food Bank. Many students in Missoula and across Montana do not have access to hands-on science education or opportunities to learn about higher education and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
