Roseville Area Schools Community Education is located in a first ring suburb that borders Saint Paul and Minneapolis. Our district serves 7,709 K-12 students speaking 75 different languages. The mission of Community Education is, “Engaging our ever-changing communities and partners in developing meaningful services, quality programs and lifelong learning opportunities for all.” We want to equip our youth with the skills, passion, and curiosity they need to make their future bright. That's why we are committed to offering high quality, engaging programs to youth in our community. By joining our team the Literacy Leader will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on our youth and our staff by connecting the school day learning to out of school time programming. The projects this position will focus on are out of school time lesson plan development, interest area kits, a project management guide and a training series to align school day learning to out of school time programs. We value professional development and the unique attributes the candidate will bring our team.

Member Duties : The Literacy Leader will develop lesson plan standards to align out-of-school-time programming to school day curriculum. They will also develop new out-of-school-time interest area kits which are themed resources that include STEAM, literacy, dramatic play, and other materials to create an inclusive environment. These kits transform a classroom space into an interactive, hands-on learning environment around a particular theme, such as space or Harry Potter. The Literacy Leader will develop a training series for out-of-school-time staff on new lesson plans, school day curriculum, and how out-of-school-time lesson plans align to school day curriculum.*Position part of the Literacy Leadership cohort of MN Literacy Council.
