Bolder Options-Youth Program Evaluation Specialist [MCN]

There’s nothing like brotherhood and positive, adult guidance from role models that reflect the culture and community a young person comes from. That’s what we offer boys who join our Brotha-to-Brotha group mentoring program. Through the power of collaboration, Bolder Options and its program partners launched this group mentoring model for middle school age, underserved boys of color living in St. Paul, MN. The program gives boys a place to feel like they belong through a tight-knit fraternity --the “Brothas”-- that call each other family. Brothas have enriching, multicultural experiences; set and achieve goals; learn more about themselves, other cultures, life skills, and future careers; and lend their voices toward being change agents in their communities. Programming is provided after school, two days a week from October through May, and then transitions to a Summer Adventure series from June to August. Our curriculum places an emphasis on four cornerstones comprised of physical health, culturally-relevant wellbeing, enrichment opportunities, and community engagement. At Bolder Options, we value the power of mentoring; an “#IamBecauseWEare” philosophy; devotion to our mission, community, and one another; the idea that we are our brother’s keeper; the human potential to achieve beyond current circumstances; and the exponential impact of the collective. Our ideal candidate will share these values, be hardworking, collaborative, self-motivated, and have the desire to leave their personal mark on this youth empowerment initiative.
