VEAP Community Outreach & Engagement Coordinator VISTA -MAVA

VEAP’s integrated basic needs and social services programming supports low-income families and individuals facing food insecurity and housing instability. Since 1973, VEAP (Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People) has provided a range of services provided by professional staff and volunteers to help low-income individuals and families living in 4 communities of the Twin Cities metro area. Our holistic approach to services focuses on a household’s overall stability, hope and potential for future success. VEAP operates one of the largest food pantries in the state with approximately 10,000 individuals having access to healthy foods every month through our full onsite pantry and mobile food pantry bus. As our community grows more and more diverse, VEAP is committed to taking proactive and intentional steps to reach new audiences to engage in our work. In response to changing demographics, you will play a critical role in identifying, recruiting, orientating, training and supporting volunteers to expand programming in diverse communities. You will conduct strategic outreach and recruitment in order to diversify our volunteer corps. You will collaborate with partners and community stakeholders in outreach activities that build and strengthen our connections and expand our reach. Your work will spark hope for the future and support stability for people living in poverty. Our work environment is client centered, values driven, team oriented, and fast paced. We are committed to supporting a diverse volunteer corps that reflects the communities we serve.
