Old Brooklyn Community Development Corp. Summer Associate
At the Old Brooklyn Community Development Corporation (OBCDC) we are always looking for exciting new ways to grow. Our creation of the Old Brooklyn Farmers Market was one of those opportunities, which allowed us to bring fresh, local produce to our weekly summer movie nights at Loew Park for 10 straight weeks from 2016 - 2018. For our 2019 season, we’ve decided to shake things up and move the market to Saturday mornings on our main street Pearl Road. To make this happen, we’ve partnered with a local church who has provided us with the use of its outdoor and indoor space so we can create a hub of activity in the center of our community that will take place for 15 straight weeks, rain or shine. In addition to local produce offerings, we have partnerships lined up with local organizations to provide thoughtful and well-rounded activities including live music, artist workshops, cooking demonstrations, fitness exercises, reading circles, educational programming, and more.
